The standard rickshaw has been up in the Lake District this week with the crew “The A Word” series 2 which is currently filming around Keswick and Derwent Water.

The rickshaw has recently been out with the crew from the second series of police drama “Safe House”, which has been filming around Merseyside and Cheshire.
Balloon wheels helped to smooth out tracking shots over waste ground.

Step On/Off Rickshaw

Barcelona based Steadicam operator Ramon Sanchez has recently taken delivery of a step on/off rickshaw with additional balloon wheels and cycle mount.

 

Alf saddles up.

Steadicam supremo Alf Tramontin climbed aboard the cycle rickshaw this week for series two of police drama “No Offence”.  To shoot a BMX chase sequence, Alf used the step on/off rickshaw attached to the bike. With his rig hard mounted and underslung he was able to shoot dramatic low angle fast paced coverage

Rickshaw Snow Chase

Just completed Steadicam work on a new feature film adaptation of “Heidi” starring Bill Nighy and Emilia Fox. In order to film a fast paced snow chase, the step on/off rickshaw was configured for two wheel mode with the rig hard mounted and under slung.

Simon Wood shoots with Step On/Off Rickshaw

Steadicam operator Simon Wood had the step on/off rickshaw on the cobbles of Coronation Street this week on the promo shoot for the upcoming Corry live episode in September. Shooting with the Arri 435 and his Nexus rig, he had to track backwards down a cobbled alleyway ahead of running actors. He configured the rickshaw for two wheel mode, with balloon tyres and seat to smooth out the cobbles.

I have been operating Steadicam on series 9 of Dr Who for Dop. Mark Waters and Director Daniel Nettheim. During the shoot the step on/off rickshaw was used extensively for some very long and challenging tracking shots.

“Surprise Surprise” shoot with Cycle Rickshaw

The crew from ITV’s “Surprise Surprise” have been shooting with the standard rickshaw and cycle mount. They needed to track a cyclist around the footpaths of Crawley Country Park. The Director and Cameraman both rode aboard, shooting with a hand held gymbal.

Dave Carey, Steadicam and camera op. on “Doc Martin”, has recently taken delivery of a Step On/Off rickshaw for use on the next series which is due to shoot in Cornwall in May.

BBC Drama “The Village” shoot with rickshaw

The rickshaw has recently been out in Derbyshire for the second series of BBC drama “The Village”. The crew needed to track across the immaculate lawns of a stately home, so they fitted the balloon wheels to get the shot without causing any damage.
