BIFA Films shoot feature film in Bradford
I am currently shooting Steadicam on feature film “Lies we Tell” for Dop Santosh Sivan and Director Mitu Misra. Produced by Andy McDermott and Danny Gulliver for BIFA Films, the movie is set within the Pakistani community in Bradford and stars Harvey Kietel and Gabriel Byrne.
The step on rickshaw was used for a long tracking sequence during a big wedding scene along with several drones and a Technocrane.
Simon Wood shoots with Step On/Off Rickshaw
Steadicam operator Simon Wood had the step on/off rickshaw on the cobbles of Coronation Street this week on the promo shoot for the upcoming Corry live episode in September. Shooting with the Arri 435 and his Nexus rig, he had to track backwards down a cobbled alleyway ahead of running actors. He configured the rickshaw for two wheel mode, with balloon tyres and seat to smooth out the cobbles.

Wildcat Grips Buy “Slim Jim” Rickshaw For “Wolf Hall”.
Recently completed a modified version of the standard rickshaw for the guys at Wildcat Grips.
They wanted to use it for interior work involving narrow doorways and corridors.
I tweaked the existing design and came up with the “Slim Jim” which is only 2’3″ wide.
It will also take a wider axle for added stability outdoors and can easily be fitted with Balloon Wheels.

Bicycle Rickshaw
I have recently designed a bicycle mount to attach each model of rickshaw to any standard bike. Fitted in minutes, it allows the rickshaw to be towed at speed by a friendly cycling grip. Check out the configuration photos below :
Rickshaws For Sale
Steadicam supremo Roger Tooley has recently purchased a Step On /Step Off Rickshaw from me after hiring my original model for BBC drama series “Good Cop”. Roger, impressed with its light weight modular design and ease of use, asked me to build one for him. With the option of Balloon Tyres and switchable axle widths, it presented a couple of interesting challenges but Roger was very happy with the finished product. I have also completed another Step On/Off Rickshaw for Newton Grip Sevices who were very impressed after hiring from me.
I am happy to offer this sevice to anyone else who would be interested in purchasing their own Rickshaw. It certainly is a very versatile piece of kit to have around and can be quickly dismantled for storage in the smallest of spaces. Please check out the Rickshaw page for more information.
